Preparing for your hunt

  • Waders are not mandatory but are recommended
  • Waterproof jacket
  • Blind bag
  • Gun
  • Shells
  • Flashlight
  • Any drinks you may need (non-alcoholic, of course!)
    • **Make sure and bring a big appetite because we do cook in the blind. You won’t go hungry!**
  • Federal duck stamp
  • Small game (daily or annual)
  • Migratory bird

*Anyone under the age of 16 are not required to have a license but the accompanying adult will need to have the required licenses.  Also, Missouri has to have your hunter education card on file in order for you to purchase a hunting license.  You will need to make sure you call the Missouri Department of Conservation office and get an email address to send your card to.  The Southeast Regional Office is 573-290-5730.  If you have done any hunting in Missouri before, you shouldn’t have to send in your hunter education card but call and check just to be on the safe side. You are free to stay wherever you like when you come to hunt with Grassy Water.  In the future, we will have lodging available for our hunters.  Until then, we highly recommend Hunter Lodge in Marston off exit 40 & Drury Inn & Suites in Hayti, MO.  They have spacious rooms, large beds, and a small kitchen in suite.  Info is below.
